Pays de la Loire

Pays de la Loire is a region located in the west of France. The region takes its name from the Loire River which crosses it from southeast to northwest. The Pays de la Loire brings together five departments: Loire-Atlantique, Maine-et-Loire, Mayenne, Sarthe and Vendée.

This region is renowned for its geographical diversity, offering Atlantic coastlines, salt marshes, forests, vineyards and castles. Among the emblematic sites, we can cite the castle of Angers, the castles of the Loire, the Puy du Fou (historical theme park), the beaches of the Atlantic coast, and the islands of Yeu and Noirmoutier. The regional economy is influenced by agriculture, industry, tourism and port activity, particularly in Nantes, which is the largest city in the region.
