Product information

If you are not sure of your Dao jeans size, find the one you need here in a simple and intuitive way.

This calculation was carried out by Ateliers Dao based on their statistics and experience.

If you are between sizes, size up.
So, if you are a man and you are 1.79 m tall and weigh 66 kg, we advise you to choose a size 28 in length 30.
And if you are a woman and you are 1.65 m tall and weigh 60 kg, we advise you to choose a size 28 in length 30.

Simple and basic, find here our washing instructions to take care of your jeans. You'll see, it's not complicated.

At L'Appart', you are spoiled for choice when it comes to finding jeans made in France that fit your legs: jeans made in Nancy by DAO, jeans made in Ile-de-France by La Gentle Factory or jeans made in Normandy by Kiplay.
You will choose it for its shape (straight, semi-slim, slim, flared), its color (raw, stone blue, black, gray) or perhaps also for its composition (organic cotton, linen, with a hint of elastane. ..).

Special purist foreword!

Before washing your jeans for the first time, we invite you to bathe them completely for 1 to 2 hours in lukewarm water with 4 tablespoons of white vinegar. Turn it upside down before making it, and stir it when you pop around the kitchen.

This process allows the dye to be fixed permanently.
If you have the courage to do it before each wash, your jeans will thank you forever!

How often should I wash my jeans?

Wash your jeans once a month if they are your favorite jeans and they never leave your side.

Wash it every 2 months if you alternate it with other pants.

In any case, your jeans will appreciate being aired between each wash, or even spending 48 hours in the freezer to kill bacteria.

How do I wash my jeans?

Wash at 30 degrees , jeans inside out, without fabric softener and in a machine that is not too full (otherwise white chips may appear on the fabric).
Never ever use a tumble dryer, give it time to dry flat even if you are in a hurry to put it on!

If you iron it, it will be inside out, iron not too hot.

To note :

Dao, La Gentle Factory and Kiplay jeans will tend to relax at the waist and will not shrink when washed.

We wish you good adventures with your jeans made in France!

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF IT’S WELL DONE IN FRANCE?

In addition to our #CheckTesEtiquettes campaign, we suggest you change your habits, oh my, nothing revolutionary let's face it, just slowly take the initiative to read the labels of the products you buy.

This is because these little pieces of rectangles sewn onto clothing or on the back of boxes of coveted objects contain valuable information that will help you ask the right questions about its composition and its origin. You will also be able to see more clearly the brand's real commitments in terms of social and environmental responsibility (CSR).

This new habit will take you a few seconds, so sometimes you will have to turn the garment in all directions and follow its seams to find the precious grail, it remains a rather easy exercise which will allow you to consume in full consciousness and with full knowledge of the facts!

Why read labels?

  • First and foremost, as we noted above, to buy with full knowledge of the facts! Yes, as mom once told us: “you always have to say things three times for it to sink in!”.
  • It also means ensuring that the sales price is indeed in line with the place of manufacture and/or its composition. Yes, we can be called Prada and have all our ready-to-wear made in China…
  • It’s also about making sure that the brand’s marketing doesn’t fool you.

Notably :

- Blue white red printed on a t-shirt does not necessarily mean that it is made in France.

- A French brand is not necessarily made in France.

- A brand with a blue, white and red logo is not necessarily made in France.

- A garment “ designed in Paris” is most of the time manufactured thousands of km away.

- A t-shirt with a feminist, inclusive message (against racism, against homophobia, etc.), republican (liberty, equality, fraternity) does not mean that it was made in a country that respects women's rights, of LGBTQ+, nor even the democratic values that are dear to us.

- Fast-fashion brands will invite you to recycle your clothes or give them a second life, this will allow you to consume without feeling guilty, but if the clothing is only made of synthetic fibers, it will still have produced a lot of oil to only wear it twice and then recycle it.
